China Medical Equipment FAir (hereinafter referred to as CMEF), as the largest medical device exhibition in Asia, is an important exhibition and communication platform for the domestic and even medical device industry. Since the first CMEF exhibition was held in Beijing in 1979, CMEF has undergone more than 40 years of development. The recent 87th China International Medical Equipment fair will also be held at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14-17 May 2023.

The history of CMEF can be traced back to the late 1970s, when the reform and opening up provided an opportunity for the reform of China's healthcare system, and the introduction and implementation of the healthcare reform slogan provided fertile ground for the development of contemporary medical devices, and with it the need for a platform to showcase new products, technologies and promote the market. In the decades that followed, as medical reform deepened and the overall medical device industry in China continued to develop, CMEF grew, with an ever-expanding exhibition area and a gradual increase in the number of areas covered, attracting more than 100,000 attendees at each show.
